1. So you want to corrupt your game

Let's get this warning out of the way: FLASHING LIGHTS AND LOUD NOISES WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU CORRUPT YOUR GAME, SO BE WARNED; ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE PRONE TO EPILEPSY. We would rather you not have to go to the hospital because you wanted to corrupt a silly block game.
Alongside that, be careful not to corrupt anything you'd hold cherished, like your Minecraft worlds. Stick to the instructions, and you will be fine.

2. Getting Started

You will need the following:

  • Real Time Corruptor - The tool for corrupting Minecraft itself.
  • Prism Launcher - A launcher for Minecraft instances.
  • The .jar file of whatever version of Minecraft you wish to corrupt. We recommend an early version of it, such as b1.7.3, as earlier versions are much easier to corrupt. We recommend getting the jar from mcversions.net. The jars are provided by Mojang themselves, but this gives you an easy way to obtain them.

Install both RTC and Prism, and then Launch RTC. If this is your first time launching it, select "Downloader" in the bottom left corner, select the most recent version of RTC, and then click "Download Selected Version".

Once you do that, you're going to need to install FileStub by clicking it's box on the main menu:

We're just about done. Now you're going to neeed to get the Java Corruptor Package. To do this, select Package Downloader from the Menu, then select PLUGINS, and then scroll down until you find a package titled "JavaCorruptor".

Now, you're ready to begin corrupting!

3. Corrupting Minecraft!

To start, open up FileStub. It'll look something like this:

Take the .jar file you obtained and drag it into the "Quick load drag and drop zone". After that, click "Load targets into RTCV". You'll get something that'll look like this:

Click Custom Layout on the side.

It may look like a complex thing, but don't worry, you'll understand what is what quickly. The first thing you're going to want to do is to switch the corruption engine in the top right corner to the Arithmetic Engine:

Then, you'll want to select any of the Limiters and Operations. Ideally, you'll want to experiment to get some good things going on. On the left-hand corner, there'll be a slider for intensity. Set it to whatever you want, though for best results that don't result in crashes, try to keep it below 10%. Once you've got the settings tinkered to what you want, click the Corrupt button under Blast Tools. DON'T HIT THE ONE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF RTC. This is not the option you want to use.

This creates a brand new .jar file, titled aptly as corrupted with the date and time attached to it. With that, you will have created a corrupted .Jar file. Onto Prism Launcher!

4. Loading your corrupted Jar

The first thing you will want to do is to create a brand new Minecraft Instance. Select the version that you have corrupted in the list and title it whatever you want.

Right click it and select Edit. In the window that pops up, you're going to want to select Version.

Select "Replace Minecraft.Jar", then navigate to where you have your Corrupted Minecraft Instance and select it. Once you do that, Launch the instance!

You'll be playing your Corrupted Minecraft instance! You may not immediately see something wrong in some cases...

... While in other cases, it's definitely apparent.

Either way, create yourself a new world, and bare witness to... Something.

Have fun with the corruptions you see! You may see some wild things, you may see some twisted generation, you may see weird flashing lights and get your ears blown out, you'll see so much! If you decide you want to explore these corrupted worlds, simply click the checkbox next to the .Jar's listing on the Versions tab, and open your game up as normal! I would personally recommend installing SinglePlayerCommands for the ability to fly and noclip around, as sometimes the worldgen will be very difficult to traverse through.

Be mindful that you'll most likely experience a lot of crashes, so tinkering and experimentation is encouraged with this. Once again, too, remember that there will be flashing lights and very loud noises at times, so take caution! I would recommend getting the Volume Limiter in RTC Corruptor so you don't blow out your ears.
